UL 924 & NFPA 101 Compliance
In the United States, emergency exit signs must comply with UL 924 (Standard for Emergency Lighting and Power Equipment) and NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code). Our batteries are designed and tested to meet these rigorous requirements.
NFPA 101 requires minimum 90 minutes of illumination during power failure
Exit signs must provide at least 1 footcandle of illumination at floor level
"EXIT" letters must be at least 6 inches high with 3/4 inch stroke width
NFPA allows both red and green exit signs; local codes may specify preference

European Market Standards
EN 60598-2-22 & EN 1838 Compliance
European emergency exit signs must comply with EN 60598-2-22 (Luminaires for emergency lighting) and EN 1838 (Lighting applications - Emergency lighting). The EU requires the ISO 7010 "running man" pictogram in green and white.
